Abolitionist Sanctuary Sunday Service is a program provided to social justice-oriented religious leaders of Black-serving churches. We train faith-communities to reimagine their church teachings and practices through the lens of abolition.

Dr. Robert’s vision for a faith-based abolitionist movement involves redressing harmful teachings that reproduce carceral logic by condemning individual agency, and instead uses liberative theologies that center Jesus as a 1st century abolitionist who requires his followers to extend his ministry of setting the captives free.
